Mack-Cali Realty Corp
Energy Star Certification
M&E Engineers has become the go-to firm to assist Mack-Cali in obtaining Energy Star certification for their New Jersey properties.
Over 25 of their buildings have achieved Energy Star certification with the support of M&E.

New Jersey Turnpike Authority
Facilities Improvement Program
The NJTA has embarked on a $500 million Facility Improvement Program (FIP) to upgrade many of its facilities. These include four new NJ State Police stations, 19 multi-use buildings for its Maintenance Districts, a Central Inventory Facility and a Back-up Traffic Management Center.
M&E is serving as the Commissioning Authority for all of these projects.
Systems to be commissioned include typical systems such as HVAC, Plumbing, and Generators, as well as some systems not as typical such as vehicle lifts, cranes and vehicle wash systems.
The Commissioning Scope for these projects includes involvement from design through to occupancy.
PSE&G Training Facility
Energy Conservation Measures
M&E Engineers managed an energy conservation project for PSE&G at their 96,000 sq ft training facility. The project was initiated as a comprehensive, Level 2 energy audit. Audit components included efficiency analysis, estimating energy savings, capital expenses, and tracking progress of energy conservation measures.
The initial audit and improvement implementation identified energy and cost savings of roughly 30%. M&E also completed the related construction documents and consulted with DeFeo Associates.
After installing the energy conservation measures, the following year's energy bills were compared to the proposed savings identified by the energy audit report. The building tracked very close to the expected savings.
City of Trenton
Energy Master Plan
In association with Spiezle Architectural Group, M&E Engineers performed Level 1 ASHRAE Energy Audits on 49 buildings, totaling approximately 825,728 square feet, which were identified as the significant buildings operated by the City of Trenton.
The properties included Firehouses, Police Stations, Libraries & Museums, Water and Sewage Plants, Recreation and Senior Centers, City Hall and other miscellaneous buildings.
M&E provided existing conditions, utility bills analysis, cost estimation, energy calculations, and recommendations for Energy Conservation Measures, as well as traffic signal replacement analysis.
A comprehensive Energy Master Plan was developed and energy purchasing options were reviewed.
