Center
Location:
Parsippany |
Alfred Dunner, a sportswear manufacturer, needed to improve the
production efficiency of their 400,000 square foot distribution
center. Their state-of-the-art material handling system receives
and ships a half-million garments per day.
M&E designed a lighting system with a high color-rendering
index to avoid mismatching similar colors and eliminate merchandise-sorting
errors. We air-conditioned the entire facility to enhance employee
environmental comfort and reduce seasonal production losses. In-rack
sprinklers and high-hazard ceiling sprinklers were added to protect
the Alfred Dunner investment and minimize inventory losses in
the event of a fire. The HVAC and lighting systems were integrated
through the building automation system to reduce annual operating
expenses. These capital improvements qualified for energy rebates,
which offset the cost of construction.
